Contest to keep our shifts?!?! So for the past last year our kitchen has been HORRIBLE. The reviews have gone down specifically bc of this... long ticket times, over cooked, under done, etc. Even with this drop in reviews, we are still in the top 5 of the company. So then management posts this yesterday. Idk what to think. Like now our shifts are in jeopardy bc WE have to get reviews back up bc the kitchen ? Maybe im being overly sensitive but it just doesn't seem right.

Review Contest 2.0 10.21.24 11.11.24 Due to business, in order to fairly do the schedule, the schedule will be strictly performance based. We strive for results, not just going through the motions. Reviews are necessary to see where we are lacking and what we need to work on to get better every day. For this contest, the schedule will be made based on the servers producing the best and most reviews. Grab the QR cards, keep 10-15 in your pocket with your name on them and drop them in every check.

good_day90 Oh god I would likely start looking for another job, because I wouldn't want to deal with that bulls . Talk about adding mountains of stress to an already stressful job. Plus not being guaranteed a set number of shifts every week? No thanks.

ChefArtorias I mean you likely won't want to tell me your name and where you work but if you do I'll leave a review saying whatever you want.

CaptainK234 Organize a mass walkout at your workplace and leave the following note for your employer: "Want a staff to continue working for you? It is entirely up to you"

ji... This same thing is going on at my job. If our times are down we get our schedule cut. If I don't greet a table within 45sec, ring in drinks. within 1min, apps within 5, it counts against us. They hang up a big thing with everyone's times and start cutting you off the schedule over it.

Our hosts are constantly seating incomplete parties, quadruple seating. The kitchen will take 15+min for a simple fried shrimp app, which all affects our times yet we're the ones loosing our shifts lol. My manager hung up a bingo contest to win our hours on bad timed nights

okiidokiismokii *gets a bad review bc customer complained about being asked to leave a review*

Barbarossa7070 What are the consequences for the GM if a bad review is about something within THEIR control?

ApprehensiveG... I always felt so grungy asking people to leave reviews at my old serving job. If I did good enough to leave a review they can, but to beg? It's trashy to me let the reviews be genuine

MohWithAnh Imagine you give out your QR code to strangers on Reddit and get like 100,000 good reviews

Fanci_ This is essentially asking employees to fake reviews since anyone who works in the industry knows that securing a review is pure randomness. People want to eat, not write an essay on their experience.

That being said, that's against the TOS of almost every single review website. I'd report this to higher ups, corporate, then start looking for another job. If your manager is stressing over reviews like this, then that means the store is likely struggling/GM is just trying to score a bonus. Either way, it's a lose/lose for regular staff. Run away, mate

WIGGLES LTWIGGLESYT Time to go. Specially if you have a set schedule that you've worked for. Nope outta there if you can.

The_Lazy_Lurker Yeah I'm never get bad reviews but I refuse to beg guests for a review. Seems tacky to me especially since I work in "fine dining"
